Show Up 15 Minutes Before Your Audition

Step 3:

Please arrive 15 minutes before your chosen Audition slot. This will give you some time to settle and feel comfortable before auditioning.

What To Prepare

Ladies:
Please prepare two 32 bar cut contrasting pieces. One showcasing your Legit sound and one featuring your belt. These two songs do not need to be contrasting in genre, tempo, or style; you just need to feature both sounds.

For example, one might prepare "Till There Was You" from The Music Man to showcase Legit Sound and pair it with "Watch What Happens" from Newsies for a Belt sound. Another example would be "Vanilla Ice Cream" from She Loves Me for a Legit Sound paired with "Live out Loud" from A Little Princess for a Belt Sound.

Gentlemen:
Please prepare one 32 bar cut appropriate to your voice and the show.

Everyone:
If you took the Masterclass this summer think about some of the things we talked about. Everyone should start by researching the show. Which characters do you love? What characters fit your voice and skills best? Once you know this, pick music that fits those desires, fits your voice, and is similar to the show. You can sing cuts we worked on this summer if appropriate to the show. It should be whatever represents you best and is in the style of the show. Best of luck and reach out if you need any help!

You can use tracks for this audition, but if you chose to use sheet music please get a copy to Miss Landes no later than Friday, August 20th. She would like to rehearse and be ready for your audition.

What To Wear

There is no movement call for auditions or callbacks so feel free to dress up a little. Your look should represent you. Remember an audition is your time to shine!
